I have 4 pet degu's. 3 of them are very healthy but one has been quite ill the last couple of days. Where I live there are no vets that know anything about them to treat him. First thing in the morning when I fed him he was perfectly fine then after a couple of hours he started to look like he was choking, grinding his teeth a lot and struggling to breathe. Later that night he started to get worse, there was blood coming out of his mouth and I thought that he had given up because he wasn't moving. He also wont eat or drink, I tried to get him to drink from a syringe. He still wouldn't take it. Its now been 3 days and he doesn't seem to be getting any better but he is able to walk and get about. I still haven't seen him eat or drink. I really don't know what to do so if you could offer some help and advice that would be great. thanks
My Cavalier King Charles spaniel has been very ill . I took him too a vet and he was very bloated. He was very ill and has a double heart murmur. Vet had to give him 3 enemas before impacted faeces came out and it was quite bloody. Now on antibiotics as well as his heart medicine. I had been feeding him a kibble before. Can anyone help me with a suitable diet as kibble or that brand doesn't suit him
My 40kg medium sized bitza dog bindi, is limping, not putting pressure on her right front leg. There is no obvious wound, so i suspect it is muscular pain. She likes to run & jum which she did for our usual hour walk yesterday. Can i give her child panadol as pain relief as can't get to vet until tomorrow. What h7man pain relief can i give het.
our 3 yr old cat has been caged for 7weeks due to a broken leg ( was hit by a car), he still isnt putting alot of weight on his leg..although is moving around but mainly hops. Should we leave him in cage for longer or should he be trying to walk on it more to strengthen it? He cannot jump or lift himself up at all. He doesnt seem to be in pain but clearly getting sick of the cage. Thanks for any advise.
