RSPCA reduces adoption fees to find homes

Give a new home to our lovely animals this weekend.

From Friday 21 July to Sunday 23 July, RSPCA Victoria are reducing animal adoption fees to significant amount in efforts to rehome all animals in the animal welfare organisation's care. Dr Liz Walker CEO of RSPCA Victoria is encouraging those wanting a new pet to opt for adoptions instead, "We would love to see all of our animals adopted this weekend because pets belong in a home, not in a shelter".

Normal adoption procedures are still applied to ensure that each animal is placed in a good home with the right family. They are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, health and behaviour checked before going into their new homes.

"We're hoping the reduced fees will encourage those considering a new addition to their family to take the next step," Dr Walker said.

Reduced adoption fees from Friday July 21 to Sunday July 23 will be:

  • Dogs (four months+) $50
  • Puppies ($100)
  • Cats (four months+) $30
  • Kittens $50
  • Rabbits & Guinea pigs $30
  • Mature cats and dogs (10 years+) No fee
