Lend a helping hand to RSPCA Victoria in keeping animals warm this winter.

The animal welfare charity is asking Victorians to clean out their linen cupboards over the weekend of June 17th and 18th to donate any unneeded goods from blankets, towels, sheets, polyester doonas, pillow cases and face washers to pet beds, kitty litter, cat and dog toys, collars and leads, pet bowls and more. The RSPCA Victoria CEO Dr Liz Walker said "It's not only humans that feel the winter chill...Our animals appreciate a few extra layers of warmth, too."

All RSPCA Animal Care Centres, except Peninsula, Ballarat and Pets Place Ballarat will accept donated goods during opening hours on Saturday June 17 and Sunday June 18.

Bagged and labelled goods can also be dropped-off at RSPCA Op Shops in Burwood East, Bendigo, Castlemaine, Boronia, Chelsea, Cranbourne, Mornington, Frankston, Portland, Wangaratta and Warrnambool – during openings hours on Saturday June 17 only.

“People are incredibly generous whenever we appeal for goods, so we’re coordinating a weekend drop-off with extra volunteers helping to collect and distribute the donations. And anyone who makes a donation at RSPCA Burwood East will receive a coupon for 20% off RSPCA retail that weekend.” Said Dr Walker,

However, they are unable to accept shredded newspaper, pillows, cushions, feather doonas, wooden kennels or wooden hutches.
