Tips for travelling with dog to the countryside

There are a few things to remember when taking your pets to the country.

If you and your best buddy do leave the big smoke, there are a couple of things you need to be aware of to ensure your adventure, doesn't end up in disaster.

  • Animals are always going to be adventurous, so watch out in long grass. Snake and spider bites, can be deadly.
  • Grass seeds can easily lodge in the skin. They can cause serious infection that can even require surgery to remove them.
  • This goes without saying, be wary of dogs eating manure or dead animals as they can carry dangerous pathogens and organisms in their bodies that can be passed onto your four legged friend.
  • And finally, make sure your best mate doesn't makes too many friends of his own, by keeping him on a leash at all times, after all those big beasties, mightn't be too accommodating.
